Five new members have joined the Avalon Center Board of Directors: Heidi Hawkins Bindra, Nick Coiner, Tina Gallien, Leslye Givarz and Naomh Hudson. These talented, dedicated professionals bring unique skills and experiences to Avalon.
Heidi, former vice president for development for Planned Parenthood of Greater Northern New Jersey, previously worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mobil, Signet and the University of Rochester. She received a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, and an M.B.A. from the University of Rochester.
Tina joins us from Dominion Virginia Power, where she works as the supervisor of finance and business services. She attended Clemson University for her undergraduate degree in accounting, and William & Mary for her M.B.A.
Nick attended Christopher Newport University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business. He currently works as vice president with TFA Benefits, a Towne family company, and is passionate about healthcare reform and regulatory compliance.
Leslye serves on the board of the Council for Court Excellence, a national organization dedicated to improving the justice system. She received a B.A. in accounting from the University of Washington. Previously, she worked for the Washington D.C. Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, and the American Institute of CPAs in New York.
A litigation attorney with LeClairRyan, Naomh specializes in medical malpractice defense. She has been selected repeatedly as a “Virginia Rising Star,” an honor presented to fewer than 2.5% of Virginia attorneys. She attended James Madison University, where she volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and then earned a J.D. at the William & Mary School of Law.
